making bad decisions (vegas style)

Wednesday, August 5, 2009
Tomorrow a group of my friends and I are heading west so the city of Las Vegas.

In my 26 years, I've never been to Vegas and I always receive the same reaction from people when I share that detail.

Astonished person: "YOUUUUUUUU'VVVE never been to VEGGGAASSSS?!?"

After Sunday when I arrive tired and most likely hungover from the plane ride, I can now check of Vegas of my places to see and make bad decisions with friends.

Now, don't worry mom and dad since you read this, I won't marry Erin or Katie and think it's only legal in Nevada.

Here are our planned activities:
--Laying out for hours at the pool
--Indoor skydiving
--A Criss Angel Show (maybe)
--Tao pool party
--Playboy and Pussycat Doll Lounge and a few other clubs
--Sushi when we arrive on Thursday night
--Sweating our asses off in 100 degree heat
--Celebrating a bachelorette party for a bachelorette I don't really know

Here are our nonplanned activities:
--Getting hit on by douchebags in Affliction shirts
--Raging headaches from drinking one too many chocolate cake shots
--Accidentally breaking a heel or two
--Winning millions (awesome surprise!!)
--Running through water shows
--Getting arrested
--Taking many inappropriate pictures that will never be posted to Facebook

For all you Sin City lovers, any spots we must hit that aren't on our list?

don't forget to go to the Forum shops in Caesars Palace. it's a shoppers dream (even though you can't buy anything).

watch the Bellagio fountain all the way through at least once, especially at night. it's gorgeous!

and finally, make sure you carry your alcoholic beverages around the strip because you can't do it anywhere else.

have fun :)

1. Buffets. The buffet at the Wynn is the best hangover cure!
2. The Manolo Blahnik (I may have spelled that wrong)store in the Wynn.
3. Put me in your suitcase!

A tip on Tao - if you eat dinner there (and it's really, really good) you will get free access to their nightclub. Also, have dinner reservations there before 9:30 or the place will be a mob scene.

Also, if you want a good cheesy lounge act try the one at Paris. Have fun!

The outdoor club that's at the Wynn/Encore. MUST GO! In fact, you just have to walk through Encore to see it -- it's gorgeous. And celebrity-haven, if you're into that sort of thing...

I loved the The Las Vegas Premium Outlets, O - Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio, the somewhat shabby, but pretty awesome brunch buffet at the Imperial Palace, the fountains at the Bellagio, drinking foot-long daiquiris, Fremont Street (a must) and riding the bus that takes you up and down the strip, "The Deuce" (which made me laugh everytime!

I wouldn't recommend the Cris Angel show, it was really odd and I fell asleep halfway through.

Well...the 1 time i actually got dragged out there, i decided on a tattoo at the palm. It was actually the reason we took the trip....that & vegas sounded good after many drinks and beers on one lonely christmas eve i spent in Manhattan with my girl friend.

We actually booked our flights on the phone outside a pub while she was on a smoke break. lmao Funny right?

i know you said you're getting sushi -- hope it's at tao. i still can't stop thinking about the sushi i had there over a year a half ago. a-maz-ing. it's pricey, but well worth it. one of the guys i was with HATED sushi, and after we ate there, he was obsessed and talked about it the rest of the trip. have fun!

um have a ridiculous time in vegas, it is definitely a non-stop adventure when you're there. i say make sure to hit up kahunaville in treasure island, they have ridiculous bartenders and free shots at midnight i believe. and um the venetian has a good happy hour too. but um have so much fun and can't wait to hear about it when you get back! :)

I've never been either. I want to go, but I feel like I need a lot of money to do it right.
