I've always gone to great hair stylists and colored my hair since I was 16. You better believe I did several of the "trends" and then look back now at photos and think, "Really, did I need to add chunky blond streaks?"
But anyway, as I got older and wiser, my friend, Danielle, has been handling my hair since I was 19 and she graduated from the Brown/Aveda Institute. I was her model a few times for photo shoots and she turned my hair different shades of blond and red. (Not my best days and thank god I can't find any photos to show.)

| With Danielle - my hair whisperer |
But, she introduced me to the wide world of Aveda and I've been hooked ever since with their hair care products. I NEVER color my hair unless it's professional and always use good styling products.
About two months ago, I was lucky enough to connect with FHI Heat and have been using both the EPS flat iron and Nano Weight Pro 1900 hair dryer.
Holy amazeballs - I'm hooked. While I've used a CHI for the past 8 years (seriously, what did we do before flat irons) mine started to go bad. I had dropped it one too many times and the paddles were coming loose. And, if you use a good one, you know you can't replace it with some cheap model from Target. It's not the same - at all! Even though I have naturally thick, straight hair, I have an interesting wave that happens to one side of my head that doesn't happen to the other, so kick ass hair products are a must.
Not knowing too much about FHI, I took to Twitter to ask the question, "who uses FHI and do you like it?" People quickly responded that they loved their FHI flat iron because of the different heat settings you can set it on.
While I haven't left the house without it (even took it to Mexico in the sleek case), there are few things I've noticed right away about the EPS flat iron:
- Multiple heat settings - I don't go above about 350 but it goes all the way up to 450.
- No hair pulling - When I first fired it up, I instantly noticed it didn't pull at my hair. If you use a flat iron daily, you know what I'm talking about it. It almost can feel like you are pulling out your hair, but NOT at all with this one.
- Looks and feels better. It's looks shinier and people have noticed. I've always used a gel or a styling creme prior my flat ironing and after. Before I blow dry my hair, I've been applying Hot Sauce to my ends
The same hairdresser friend had been recommending I get a better hair dryer for years. "Stop using that cheap one you have and invest in a professional one. You will notice the difference and it will give you more shine."
She was right. I've been using it and tried to explain the importance of a good blower to the BF. He has used it before and maybe I might've screamed like a little girl when he didn't replace it, but still, you understand how attached I am.
- Dries my whole head. I have pretty thick hair and I always felt like parts were never dry but my scalp was ON FIRE from blow drying. The Nano Weight Pro 1900 has three heat settings, so you can adjust between warm and hot. And, there's a
- Weighs under a pound. Yep, no lie. Exactly.8 pounds if you are interested.
- Quiet. My BF hates the sound of hair dryers. He likes to imitate my old one but I haven't heard him complain about this one yet. My friend is looking to replace hers at the salon and is looking into getting an FHI one, but probably the next step up.

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 201 Newer› Newest»I need this!!!! Desperately. I am using one of those cheapies for Target. :(
My current fav hair product is dry shampoo! Perfect for last minute errand running or post workout!
I love Jessicurl styling products for my curly hair. I can't imagine my life before them :) I do flat iron occasionaly, so a good flat iron would be wonderful.
One word...Aveda! Everything I have used I LOVE. My favorite is probably the Smooth Infusions Style-prep smoother.
On a side note, my house was broken into in the Spring and the BIT** stole my good straightener! Thank God my hair has been shorter for a year or so now, but since growing it out is in the Winter plan I'm gonna need to dole out the cash if I don't win :)

I love love love Aveda products! I've used Hang Straight since H.S. and, when I stopped being able to find that, I switched to Smooth Infusion. I have not curly/not straight hair so whether going curly or straight. . . products are DEF required! I love that the Aveda products don't make my really fine hair greasy-looking when I straighten it! I (obviously) require a straight iron if I plan to leave the house not looking like a frizzball. . . currently using a CHI. . . but it's slowly dying much to my horror. :)
Thanks!
Darcy
I love Jonathon's "Dirt." It smells wonderful and holds my style for hours. I've been hooked on it for the last several years and can't imagine life without it!
Right now loving Indian Gooseberry Treatment Oil. I have very thick, curly, long, frizzy hair and my hair loves this stuff

right now johnsons detangler saves me
I love Aveda products as well. Phomollient is amazing. Ive had haircare nightmares for the past couple years and I've found aveda products to be such a great help. I always had un-curlable straight hair which started falling out bc if some crazy medications I had to take. My hair grew back but its now curly. Well...its curly "ish". The Aveda Be Curly products really helped me coax out the curls that were there. But I really miss my straight hair and could use a good straightener! I had a pretty good one but my lovely husband dropped a tv stand on it and chopped the cord in half! Maybe this fhi one would be just what I need!
Whoops. Email: csolymos@gmail.com
I cannot do without my hairdryer. I don't use a lot of product but I NEED my hairdryer and brush each and every day, no matter what!
I also need a straightener, the brush and dryer isn't doing it anymore!

I don't own a flat iron because I'm afraid if I get hooked, I'll never stop using it! I already spend so much time with make up and my hair in the mornings I don't need to waste more time, lol.

I have been obsessed with Aveda since my cousin graduated from Brown/Aveda, too!
Love Aveda products and had to find a salon that used them when I moved to Cleveland. It was a "must". I do love my Chi, but would love to try a new high-end flat iron. It may be time for a change. Great giveaway!
Right now one of my favorite items for my hair is the Inecto Pure Coconut Oil Smoothing Hair Serum. It helps sometimes with my kinky frizzy hair.

I tweeted too! @BiteBuff
this post made me laugh - im the same way with my hair. Just this morning i was thinking about what we did before flat irons - i remember in high school (1998ish) my friend with long hair used to IRON her hair with a real IRON - like one you would use on clothes.
My favorite hair supplies are my Frederic Fekai (spelling?) shampoo and conditioner. At $24 each its a bit excessive but I am in love.
kmartau@gmail.com
I love love Aveda Smooth Infusion. It works wonders in the summer with high humidity! Also Aveda Firmata firm hold hair spray is a must when I style my hair, it smells great too.
Oribe Shine Cream-- there is nothing in the world like it! It detangles, and adds shine, and smells great!
Aveda Smooth Infusions - I can't be without the stuff.
And considering I'm now using some cheapo knock off flat iron from Marshall's I could sure use a FHI!

OMG, I need a good hair dryer so, so badly. The one I have is pure crap, but I've been too lazy to replace it. My hair care routine is pretty basic. I suppose the one thing I can't live without is my straightener because I need it to keep my bangs from channeling the '80s too much.
My favorite hair product to combat frizz and to keep my hair shiny looking is Frederic Fekkai's glossing creme.
Ugh. Finding the "perfect" hair product and/or styling accessory still evades me. Can the FHI do my hair FOR me because, seriously, I have no clue what I'm doing over here!
In all seriousness though, I need to use a flat iron (and mine is a semi-cheap model, not Target-cheap though) to straighten my weird wave and cowlicks. AND I have thin, baby hair on top of it, so let me tell you how awesome specific heat settings would help me by not ruining my hair!
my favorite tool is a flat iron...which is sadly broken. thus, the influx of ponytails and hats the last 2 weeks. :( and my favorite product is aveda smooth infusion. which works best...you guessed it...with a new flat iron! (i love aveda products too. i am so hooked.)
I love love love my Polishing Gloss by Jonathan. I always use it right at the end of doing my hair, and it separates my ends and makes my hair looks shiny and piecy and perfect!
@LaurenB
Aveda is awesome, but that goes without saying,lol..I also LOVE the Redken All Soft line. Smells so good and leaves my hair, you guessed it: ALL SOFT.

I love Bedhead products!
Moroccan Oil is my new found favorite hair product!! It is AMAZING!!! It is great for easier styling, finishing and conditioning. my hair feels and looks healthier after I use it and you only need the littlest bit so the bottle lasts forever. I NEED this straightner. I just broke mine and since this is a one income house it doesn't look like I will be getting a new one anytime soon. So help these golden locks look as incredible as they should! Thanks and have a wonderful day

THANK YOU!! This is awesome...I believe the best hair shampoo and conditioner out there is by Fekkai! I can't wash my hair without it! I am actually trying the Apple Cider set right now for the Fall ;) Also---I am also bringing back the Hot Rollers for my new Fall Curl Style!
My favorite hair products are all by Aquage. Current faves include Sea Salt Texturizing spray and Shine Spray. Love them!

I've always been a loyally CHI user. After my first one broke, I went out and bought a second one. Now my second one is on the verge of complete failure. It sounds like the FHI is working wonders on your hair. Favorite hair styling products - L'Oreal's Elnett Satin Hairspray - its amazing! It holds but without that stiff, crunchy feeling - and the best part is it brushes right out! Another fave is Pureology SuperSmooth shampoo - it doesn't have sulfates - which is supposedly better for your hair - especially if its color-treated. Keeps my locks smooth and my color doesn't seem to fade as fast.

I use Aveda Phomolient and have been addicted to it for years. However, I have absolutely NO idea what it is or what it does, but can't live without it. Also love Aveda Be Curly. I put it in my hair, sleep with it wet, touch it up with a curling iron in the morning and it looks like I spent hours! Must have the straightener, my CHI died a few years ago and I have yet to replace it :(
danielle.lippe@gmail.com

Ok, I'm entering for my wife so I don't have any favorite hair products (although I did go through a hair bleaching phase in college). My wife has long, super thick hair that is "curly," but not curly like you see on TV commercials. She hates her hair and either spends a couple hundred bucks to have it chemically straightened or spends a minimum of an hour straightening it with a $40 iron from Target. She would love me forever if I won this FHI flat iron for her. Ok, full disclosure, she'd love me forever either way, but this would win me some serious points!
I also tweeted about it @live2cookathome. Thanks!
Hey there! My blow dryer just kicked the bucket, which is a bummer. Although it was a semi-cheapo from Sally's, it was the best one I've ever owned. I long to own the real deal...
When I am not sporting my "workout" look (ponytail, ballcap or silly bun), I DO love my flat iron. I have lots of hair, but it's fine--the recipe for flat. I found Aveda Pure Abundance Hair Potion. It's a powder that liquifies when you rub it in at the roots. It gives me lots more body and a slightly "beachy" look that I like.

I currently use Tresemme mousse for curl days, and Fructis Anti-Frizz Sreum Sleek & Shine. It's a little greasy, but definitely adds shine and just enough weight to keep down the frizzies!

I love hair gel, but my wife could use a new straightener.
I do not have one of these. I always use hair smoothing cream because I have frizzy and wavy hair and use a blow dryer and round brush, but it doesn't always look good. Difficult job because the wave starts to come back or is there if I don't get it straight enough.

I'm obsessed with hair care products, and my tried and true/can't live without product is and always will be Pantene conditioner. Thank you for the lovely giveaway.

I always have at least 2 ponytail holders and 2 bobby pins in my purse. It's always a must!
I could really use one of these. I've got thick, unruly hair and with 2 little boys under the age of 3, I need a quick and easy way to fix my hair in the morning. Thanks for your consideration!

I love using the hair shine serum - makes my hair so much smoother and shinier

My fave hair care product is Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle. It is really great for when you need a little bit more than your regular conditioner is going to give you, and the best part is that it's cheap! And it smells great. Thanks!

I cant live without my morrocan oil and kenra plantinum shine spray

I just need Intensive Head and Shoulders for the first wash, and I use Pantene 2-in-1 for volume usually for the second wash. It's very simple, and my hair doesn't always look great, but I'm just a low maintenance gal. I would like to have a styling iron, though. I've never had one.
The pureology smooth line is really great. The smoothing elixir really restores shine when my hair is feeling dry.

I have a round brush that I've had forever, and I just love it! It keeps my hair from frizzing up.

I have a few favorite things! If I wear my hair natural, which is wavy, then I use Garnier wonder waves spray! It helps add a little more to the waves. If I wear my hair straight, then I use my Corioliss sXe straightener. I LOVE it, but it's getting pretty old, and they discontinued them.

Biolage - Love their products!

Honestly, other than shampoo and conditioner, the only thing I ever use on my hair is a brush. I've always wanted a flat iron but other things were always more important. I think my hair needs it, badly.

I like Aveda products. However, lately have been a Suave kind of gal. What can I say, trying to cut corners.
Thank you so much for the entry, my daughter wants a "good" flat iron so badly. We all know the difference between a cheap flat iron and a good one.
Thank you for the entry,

How PERFECT! I just tossed my best friend, my hair iron, in the garbage last night!!! ;*( We had a great relationship but her surface was starting to burn.... I am in the new market for an iron and have looked into Aveda. I cannot live without my iron. It has been 10 hours and already I am freaking out. Luckily, I do have a travel iron which is an OKAY substitute.. may not last too long before I go insane!!!!

Sadly don't use a lot of styling products or tools. I use a blow dryer and I believe it may be Vidal Sassoon I have a crappy hair iron by Hot Tool it's alredy broken twice. I use a hair serum by BioSilk and that's about it when I style my hair.
Thanks for the great giveaway.

I love Curly Wurly shampoo from Lush and Living Proof Stying cream.

My favorite hair tip is: Use quality shampoo. For years, I was one of those people who said, "Eh, Suave works as good as anything." Then I tried a high-quality shampoo and realized how wrong-o I was. Right now we have Nick Chavez and I love it!

I won't leave home without my John Frieda serum.
I hate being without a hair dryer! I was in the hospital and after I showered, I laid back into my bed with wet hair!! My pillow was wet!

I love using Biosilk serum on my hair. It makes it soft and takes away the frizz. Plus, it smells great!
