christmas tree hunting

If you are in the midwest, chances are you got a little or a lot of snow this weekend. I convinced the BF that this would be the perfect weekend to go purchase our first live Christmas tree.

When we lived in the apartment, we had a little dwarf fake tree that didn't quite cut it so when this holiday season came around, I knew we needed to kick it off with a bang.

First things first - the BF is somewhat of an organized person. Like when we were looking at Xmas lights, he needed to strategically think about which lights work the best on the front bushes and calculated how long of an extension cord he needed. (I was huffing and puffing to get the hell outta Home Depot and just pick up some lights and cords, hoping it would all work out.)

So.

Let's just say I wasn't sure how much patience he would have for me and my tree hunting. When I'm shopping for anything, I like to look at all my options whether that's buying toilet paper, purses, shoes or cereal. I like to have options.

I was looking for the right tree that I only I could picture that was 6-7 feet and the right fullness. He was picking out short and fat ones but I really saw something with more height and fullness. I also almost saw the snow up close and personal because I almost fell twice and one of which was caught on film. Of course.

And, here it is, all dressed up. When we were shopping for ornaments, I let the BF pick silver versus gold but lucky for him, I had more ornaments my mom gave me.

Ice blue, silver and gold
Do you have a fake or a real tree

B E A Utiful!

Such a perfect place for it too :)

I have a fake ficus tree that I decorate with bulbs and lights. It's different, like me I suppose :D

Your video was too cute.

We have a fake but N is NOT happy about it. The needles just became too much of a p.i.t.a. Plus i'm 100% certain Clair will try and eat a real tree.

I have a fake tree and the BF has a real tree. Since we'll be cohabitating as of next Christmas, I'm wondering who will win the battle of the tree...

"I'm going to get my way... fer sher!" LOLz.

I haven't put up a tree in years, but when I did it was fake and I decorated it in almost the exact same colors as you (the icy blue was a sage green tho). :)

so pretty!! I love it! I think its great how men and women tend to have different tolerances, it just shows that you belong together!

I have a fake tree with a stand that doesnt go with it, and its always a struggle to get it to stand up!

Your tree is pretty!! Ours is fake. We stopped buying real trees a few years ago because they're so expensive now. I have to admit I miss shopping for Christmas trees at the lots growing up and watching my dad tie the tree on top of our car.

I have a real tree - and I covered the entire thing in lights only to have the Lady Friend walk in and say "I do'nt like it- can you start over."

I may be asking Santa for a new wife this year.

That tree looks pretty darn perfect.
We have a fake pre-lit tree. Except more than half of the "pre-lit" lights don't light up anymore!

Beautiful and it does look perfect! Like a catalog. I've always had a real tree, but since I have a new kitty that eats everything, we are skipping a tree this year.
