the music of 2010

While there are a lot of things I want to stay in 2010, let's talk about the music of 2010.

There was some good.

There was some bad.

There was some really bad.

Here are the songs that I hope stay in this year and the bands/singers/artists can stay here too.

Hey, Soul Sister-Train
I never liked this song when it came out. I had a feeling it would become like Drops of Jupiter when it stayed and stayed and stayed. The only way I like this song is when its sung by the cast of Glee. For some reason, it didn't bother me as much but if I hear it on the radio, watch the F out.

Just the Way You Are - Bruno Mars
Please, no more. We get it. She is beautiful just the way she is.

Tik Tok - Ke$ha
While I don't think this song was actually in 2010, I would like her, her eye glitter and trash bag outfits to stay in 2010. I bet if I used autotune, I could sound just like that. Dontcha think?

Need You Now - Lady Antebellum
I don't like country music although I sometimes like a Taylor Swift song now and then. However, this song has been beaten to death. My friend coworker Lauren refers to them as Lady Scarabellum. I can't change the station quick enough and it ALWAYS comes on Sirius.

What songs do you love or hate and wish they'd stay in 2010?

I recently described Train as a band specifically designed for people who hate music. Hearing that damned Christmas song they did for the Coke commercial hasn't changed that opinion at all.

I'm so with you on Train and Ke$ha.

OMG, I'm so over Train and Lady Antebellum. They both can stay in 2010 forever for all I care.

Hey Soul Sister was one of those songs I liked the first five or so times I heard it but hated it by the 205th time I'd heard it. Oversaturation, to say the least.

Most Katy Perry songs, "Love the Way You Lie" - Eminem and Rihanna, and agreed on the Lady Antebellum (I loved it when it came out, but it just became too much).

Taylor Swift. Please someone lose her in 2010 - I can't take it anymore.

I'm with you on these, but especially Train. I do NOT get why they got so popular - they are SO average!

I must confess to having loved "Hey, Soul Sister" when it first came out, despite Train's consistently heinous lyrics. And I agree with CLEgal's request that "Love the Way You Lie" stay in 2010 & never reappear ever.

Ohhhh where to begin... Agree on Lady A., "Love the Way you Lie" and Katy Perry. I would like to add "I Can Make your Bedrock", "Bulletproof" and ALL Miley Cyrus. As far as country goes, I know she had a HUGE year, but Miranda Lambert. I probably am in the minority here but Glee can stay in 2010 too. They all have great voices and talent, but I just cannot get into it and think they could all have successful careers as solo artists or on Broadway. I think the problem is songs get overplayed on the radio. I cannot tell you how many times I will be radio channel surfing and here the same song on three different stations within a half hour.
