Summer Bucket List

Wednesday, June 1, 2011
With every summer comes a busy weekends filled with weddings. For the past four years, we've seriously had no fewer than five weddings, one summer we had 10 (some on Friday and Saturday of the same weekend) and this year from March to November we have eight to attend for friends and family. So, our weekends are filled with weddings or travel to weddings and nursing our hangovers from the weddings.

BUT.....

There are a few items I'd like to cross off my list this summer of places to go and things to do.

  • Indians game - The BF and I went to a few last year but it has to be the right night because I don't want it to be a scorcher. Me + heat = not friends.
  • A trip to East Harbor Beach - My aunt used to take me with her and I remember it being a nice beach. Could be a great way to relax on a Friday and read a few books.
  • Night up at Put-in-Bay - Last year, I had a bachelorette party up there and it was a blast. Thinking about getting some friends and heading up there for the night again.
  • Patio drinking - I would like to try some new restaurants and sit on the patios while drinking sangria or wine or visit a few favorites.  Places on my list - Reddstone, Dante, Market, and Metro Bar and Kitchen just to name a few. (Update: Apparently Metro is closed. Shows how often I'm down there.)
  • Cookouts, pools and cornhole - Nothing says summer like a good tan, cookouts and cornhole games with friends
What are you doing this summer?

Good list! I'm kinda thankful we have no more weddings on the schedule this year as of right now.

I just want to run, read, relax on our deck. A nice tan sounds good too. Oh, and plenty of boating!

FYI, Metro Bar & Kitchen closed. It'll reopen as another Bar Louie (yuck) soon.

No weddings for me this year (hooray!).

Great list! I LOVE Put-In-bay & will substitute an Indians game for a Sox game, because I'm eager to check out Boston devotion to baseball, even when the team isn't doing so hot. Also on my list is a weekend trip up to Maine, just to check it out, maybe stay in a cute bed & breakfast. And JUST SAY YES to patio drinking.q

Love your list. I'm looking forward to drinking more beer and wine on my deck at home, lots of pup hikes and checking out places in CLE I haven't been to before/awhile. It's going to be a great summer - hope to see you around!

Lots of patio time, and it's my goal to not be so pastey white anymore. I haven't had a decent tan since I moved to Cleveland--boo!

But Metro closed, FYI.

8 weddings makes me itch, I can't even imagine 10. I guess I'm glad I only have 4 best girl friends :)

All I want to do this summer is sit on a boat, fish and drink summer drinks!

We still go to East Harbor every summer, usually mix it up with a stay at Put in Bay or Kelly's island. Check out Water for Elephants if you haven't already, the book was amazing. Another one to add: "Seeing me Naked" by Liza Palmer...funny and fast! I spend alot of time on the patio @ Reddstone already, and it's lovely. Also check ou the Battery Park Wine bar and the patios @ Luxe and RoseAngel while you're out this way!

I havnt been to put in bay in a couple years, my girlfriend and her husband sold their trailor up there! I always wondered how the other half enjoyed the island, im sure its just as fun to get a hotel! But, ive never had to pay for room and board, just the jettie and drinks!
