CMWorld is coming

If you are somehow in the advertising, marketing, public relations or social media field, you have likely heard about Content Marketing World. Having only attended last year and thoroughly enjoyed myself, I knew I had to get back to it again this year. I've been to a few conferences in my day but I walked away with so much information as opposed to other ones. PowerPoints, new sites, new tools and so much more where I was able to actually implement with my team. It really is knowledge overload. The sessions, especially if they are in smaller rooms, fill up quickly so I recommend scoping out what you want to attend and get in line early for those ones.

After I signed up to attend and take advantage of the early bird pricing, I received a fantastic email asking me (along with other local bloggers) to be an official blogger of the conference heading into its fifth year, Bright Lights, Big Content. Me? Hell yes, I would love to cover this event, live tweet and help out visitors any way I can.

Last week, the CMWorld team announced that Nick Offerman is the closing keynote speaker. I can't WAIT. Last year, Kevin Spacey brought the impressions and presentation where he shared stories about his amazing TV shows, his days in a British theater and all about the behind-the-scenes of his latest hit show, House of Cards. Of course, he did several Frank Underwood impressions - how could he not?

Reasons you must attend:

  • Over 80 sessions by major brands and speakers all around the world
  • Nick Offerman
  • Networking opportunities
  • must-attend break out sessions
  • Barenaked Ladies are performing
  • Don't miss out, register here now.

See them live!

55 days and counting.....

Disclaimer: For my social sharing and post, I was provided one full registration for this lovely event coming to Cleveland.

how you celebrate july 4th

Cleveland has finally welcomed the real summer season to town.

No more playing around with 65 degree days followed by inches of rain. Nope. See ya later spring!

We kicked things into high gear for America's 238th birthday with 78 degrees, sun and with a slight breeze and celebrated on one of the best islands I can think of that's driving distance from Cleveland -  Put-in--freaking-Bay.

The rules of how you do Put-In-Bay.

Start off with some very colorful and inappropriate friends and family then pile 21 of them into a house. (Also, allow your friends to crash the weekend (that's me!))

The more props the better - penis aprons, temporary tattoos and lobster rafts are great additions.

Wear touristy outfits complete with bedazzled visors and island branded gear.

That visor though.....
Add in some island fun and bar hop in preparation of July 4th festivities and drink plenty of water. (Let's be real here - we can't drink like we are 25 even though some of us still think we can. We can't. That ship has sailed so throw in more H20 and you'll be good to go all day long.)

these strawberry margaritas are serious business

Do get a fabulous spot to watch the fireworks.

Hey 'Merica!

Snap photos galore. After all, we are making memories here people! And, every group needs a motto for the weekend because that's what you JUST do. Ours was a very popular tune by the one and only Rihanna  and it was "Bitch better have my money." Fitting, am I right?

Party time.

And as our group repeated over and over, "if you can't have fun, get off the island!"

joy delivered for realz

Thursday, July 2, 2015
I buy almost everything online.

Shoes, clothes, toilet paper, cleaning products, shower curtains, candles, make up, purses and kitchen supplies.

So really the only category left to cross of my list would be food.

Door to Door Organics launched in Cleveland about two months ago where they deliver fresh organic fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and other products right to you door. (Seriously, it's the most convenient thing for someone like me even though there is a fabulous grocery store two blocks from my apartment.)

Each order is specifically packed in boxes with the appropriate freeze packs to preserve the freshness of the products. As someone who lives in an apartment, my package is delivered each week by my leasing office into my home and it's always a surprise what I ordered.

Arrives like magic in my apartment

Fresh fruit and vegetables for the week

How easy is ordering? Ridiculously easy.

Every Friday, I login and can sub items out of my bitty box if I don't want them and add any number of food items into my cart each week. Green lentils, coconut milk, organic chocolate chips, organic brown rice, spices and more are just a click of a button and been staples in my order since I'm trying out being vegan for a few weeks.

After a few days, I honestly forget what I ordered so it's a fun surprise each Tuesday when I open my box and rediscover what meals I'll be making for the week.

If you are overwhelmed by the shopping list, make it simple and plan your meals by their recipes instead. It makes shopping so much easier, just click and add them into your cart and viola! Meals planned for the week.

Door to Door Organics are a very customer service oriented business, too. They are new and mistakes happen but they do EVERYTHING their power to make it right, especially if they leave something off your order. (This has only happened twice but you better believe I noticed the organic chocolate chips were missing. #dessertaddict) You can call or email them to let them know and they will put it on your reorder list for you.

Want to try it yourself? Click here and save $10 off your first order.

Want to win one of three gift cards?

Two ways to enter:

1) Tweet: I want #joydelivered to my damn doorstep too, @allisonpeltz! http://bit.ly/1LEzzIA
2) Share a recipe from their site you would make with your order. (Hint: I'm all about the green smoothies.)

Disclosure: I was provided a $500 giftcard for this brand partnership. All thoughts, opinions and my choice to go vegan for a weeks are my own. They just supply the fresh ingredients and I'm left to follow the recipes.
